28–31 August 2020:

Imaging/Imagining: Unfolding – Aabi
(2020), solo exhibition, Nuda, Stockholm (SE), curated by Annie Jensen and Nora Hagdahl. With thanks to
David Strid, Roberto N Peyre, Josh Woolford. Supported by Kulturrådet. “Aabi emerges from a meditation on lived experience, collective research, and fiction. With references to filmmaker and artist Derek Jarman’s final work, Blue (1993), Aabi weaves memory, dream and language, observing the pause as a form of resistance. Aabi invokes the potential of the not yet arrived, offering a space to traverse utopia and dystopia, ancestral and future worlds.” from the exhibition text and publication (forthcoming).

25 January – 1 March 2020: Installation views from The Everyday Holds the Broken (2020), solo exhibition, Galleri Öst, Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Stockholm. In the installation the meditation and study of Walter Benjamins last writings, On the concept of history (Über den Begriff der Geschichte), are shown in abstracted paintings, drawings and found objects. A rigorous study of archival material, re-reading, and listening to these fragments have been integral to the process leading up to The Everyday Holds the Broken.

21 February – 3 March 2019: Installation views from the MFA Exhibition Letters from Water, Paintings no.1-13 (2019), Vita Havet, Konstfack, University of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm SE. In this series of paintings distance and dissonance serve as tools to look at the imaginary and social fabrics of our fragile environment. Through abstraction, the work reflects on the intersection between mechanic ways of seeing and intimacy.
